Pete Yorn tickets

It just dawned on me that I have not yet bought my First Avenue tickets for the Pete Yorn and Ben Kweller show.

Pete Yorn was in the news a few weeks ago for something totally un music related ... he got married. Pete Yorn married his long time girlfriend Beth Kaltman. I love it. You know how they were married? In an impromptu trip to the courthouse the weekend before Thanksgiving and had a small, intimate dinner with 20 of their friends. Now THAT is my dream wedding. No fuss, no frills, just the music. Which is what it should all be about, no?

Anywho, I believe I have stated before how much I la la love Ben Kweller. I can't wait for this show !

See you there!

First Avenue Tickets

If you are still up in arms about what to do tonight you should stop by First Avenue's New Years Eve Bash. There are quite a few DJs, champagne toast and it has one of the more affordable cover charges in town. First Avenue tickets are more affordable when you by them ahead of time for events like this ... just FYI.

FYI, First Avenue's Twitter has alerted us that the Friday night Trampled By Turtles show is sold out. If you are totally bummed - no worries there is still the Saturday night show - keep in mind that is an early one. First Avenue tickets are limited for that one so please make note of the early start time (doors are at 6pm) and buy buy buy! As you know, Saturday nights at First Avenue are all about Too Much Love.

Regardless of your plans tonight...be safe and have fun! See you in 2011!

Sold Out First Avenue tickets

Last night's Hold Steady show started off the post holiday concert season of quite a few sold out shows. As you may know First Avenue tickets for the Hold Steady show at First Avenue sold out faster than you could say "Lifter Puller." Although the Hold Steady can easily sell out First Avenue on their own, opening acts The Meat Puppets and local favorites Retribution Gospel Choir just added to the demand of the ticket.

Next up is a totally sold out birthday party for 89.3 the Current featuring Cloud Cult and Free Energy. First Avenue tickets for that one sold out before it went on sale it seems !

Ben Folds' sold out Lonely Avenue Tour is in town after that on January 23rd. Fans can expect to hear the jams he recorded with Nick Hornby. Nick Hornby wrote the lyrics, Ben Folds sang them and recorded the music. It's an awesome record if you don't have it. And if you are wondering who Nick Hornby is, well, please rent/read "High Fidelity." It's one of my all time favorite movies.

Three days after that newly reunited Jayhawks are headlining a show in the mainroom on January 29th. First Avenue tickets for that one sold out in about an hour. While Gary Louris and Mark Olson play solo shows around Minneapolis frequently, this is a rare occasion to have the band back together. Minneapolis music fans are excited!

Skipping over to Spring Break March 8th and 9th for both super super super sold out Girl Talk shows. You may have to call in some favors to get into those shows - First Avenue tickets are non existent for those!

If I can get my paws on a Ben Fold ticket I am definitely going! Did anyone check out the Hold Steady show last night?

Jack Black aka Barry rocking out to some Marvin Gaye in High Fidelity. Seriously, it's a great film!

Motorhead tickets

Minneapolis metal fans get ready! Motorhead is coming to town. The one, the only, Lemmy Kilmister is back in town for a show on Tuesday, February 15th. Just in time for Valentine's Day!

Motorhead always sells their shows out here, they have been a band since 1975 after all. Motorhead will be touring in support of their new album, "The World is Yours" on February 8th, 2011. Also, there is a documentary aptly titled, "Lemmy" being released in January about the life and carrer of the infamous Motorhead frontman. It will be a must see for any Motorhead metal fan.

First Avenue tickets go on sale Thursday, December 30th. Local favorites Clutch and Valient Thor will open the show. Clutch could easily sell out First Avenue on it's own so if you want to go to the show I would suggest buying your First Avenue tickets when they go on sale!

Lauren Hill tickets

Major concert announcement at First Avenue this week! Miseducation herself, Lauren Hill, will be in town in just a few weeks for a headlining show. Lauren Hill has not been in town since 2002's Up In Smoke Tour. So, it's kind of a big deal that she is making her way back on tour!

Tuesday, January 18th is less than a month away! First Avenue tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, December 22nd. They are a tad on the expensive side, but it is a treat to see such an amazing person in such a small, wonderful venue.

Everyone keeps asking "Is Lauren making a comeback?" I don't think she ever went away - in the past few years she has had 5 kids! Five kids is nothing short of a full time job, so no wonder her music career took a backseat for awhile.

Lauren Hill performed at the Rock the Bells Festival this past summer and played the Miseduation album in its entirety. Lets hope the same thing will happen in January.

First Avenue tickets

Last week, First Avenue announced their Best New Bands of 2010 lineup for the showcase on Wednesday, January 26th. A lot of these selections may sound familiar from the City Pages' 'Pick to Click' issue last month.

The lineup is as follows:
BadNraD, BNLX, THE GOONDAS, GRANT CUTLER AND THE GORGEOUS LORDS, HASTINGS 3000, PHANTOM TAILS and PINK MINK.

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for this show. The Best New Bands show is always one of the more looked forward to shows of the year. I think its pretty cool of First Avenue to lend their stage to a bunch of smaller bands - it's any local musicians dream to play on that stage. First Avenue tickets are also very affordable for this show so all local music fans can make it !

See you at the show!

First Avenue tickets

If you were looking forward to attending the 89.3 Current 6th birthday party you may need to gather your sleuth skills. The presale for First Avenue tickets happened yesterday and even with a two First Avenue ticket limit everything sold out. My personal opnion, there will be a lot of First Avenue tickets for the birthday show floating around around the date of the show.

There is always a lot of hype when Current sponsored events go on sale. The demand for First Avenue tickets is really high right now for this show - if you know where to look for hard to find tickets you should be fine!

Other shows on sale this week for First Avenue tickets:

All Time Low on April, 21st, 2011

The Rural Alberta Advantage - Friday, March 23rd

I am still trying to find a First Avenue ticket for either of the Girl Talk shows. Can't wait!

89.3 The Current Birthday Bash Tickets

It's that time of the year again ... the Current is turning 6 and usual - they are throwing a birthday party to celebrate.

First Avenue tickets for this one sold out in just a few hours last year when this show rolled around. First Avenue tickets go on sale to MPR members next Wednesday and what is left from the First Avenue tickets presale go on sale Friday, December 17th.

Local loves Cloud Cult, Jeremy Messersmith, and Free Energy are the confirmed acts for the birthday bash. Each of those acts could easily sell out the venue on their own so their is added demand to this show.

Last year, as you know, Prince showed up in the owner's box and ready to go on with Solid Gold. He didn't because he 'didn't think they needed his help.' Whatever Prince, you would have made the lives of all 4 band members.

I cannot stress it enough: if you want to go to this show you MUST buy your First Avenue tickets as soon as possible. The 89.3 Birthday Bash sells out every year. Don't miss it!

Jayhawks tickets

Update on previous post:
First Avenue tickets for the Jayhawks show are SOLD OUT .

First Avenue tickets

Don't forget! Not one, but two Mason Jennings shows are this weekend. Word on the street is that there are very few First Avenue tickets left for the Saturday show, but there are plenty of First Avenue tickets for the Sunday show!

Also worth mentioning - First Avenue tickets for the soon to be sold out Jayhawks show went on sale today. First Avenue tickets are still available, but are selling fast. The Jayhawks announced this week that they are reuniting for a new album and a tour this winter. Score for the Minneapolis music fans! And like I mentioned earlier this week, you can catch Gary Louris at the 40th Anniversary Party WITH HAR MAR SUPERSTAR on December 15th.

Have fun at the shows!

Check out Har Mar on Dec. 15th.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Morcheeba tickets

Electro band, Morcheeba has just announced a show at First Avenue on Wednesday, February 23rd. First Avenue tickets go on sale this Friday, December 3rd and noon. Morcheeba had moderate success in the mid 90's, but have continued releasing albums and touring in the UK, where electronic music has more appreciation!

Morcheeba
will be touring in support of their forthcoming, "Blood Like Lemonade."

A little off the subject, but something awesome I would like to mention for the holiday season is Target's new awesome compilation of holiday music. Let me preface this with saying I can count on one hand how many holiday themed songs I can stand. So my opinion on this isn't shadowed with "I LOVE ALL HOLIDAY MUSIC." With that said, Target picked some awesome indie acts for this compilation. The highlights are: Darker My Love's "Snow is Falling," Wavves and Best Coast team up for "Got Something For You," Coconut Records "It's Christmas." That is pretty cool of Target to choose such awesome people AND you can download it for free from the Target website here.

I wish I could buy First Avenue tickets for all the bands listed above! Coconut Records never tours and Darker My Love are on a break. Ahh! In my dreams.

Jason Schwarztman aka Coconut Records. love, love, love :)

Jayhawks tickets

Surprise announcement! The Jayhawks, yes the WHOLE band, not just Gary Louris or Mark Olson, have just announced a show at First Avenue on Saturday, January 29th. I was a bit surprised that the Jayhawks did not have a holiday show this year between Thanksgiving and the New Year.

In case you cannot wait to go to the Jayhawks show in January be sure to buy your First Avenue tickets for the 40th Anniversary Show. First Avenue is throwing a party for themselves on Wednesday, December 15th. Not only will Gary Louris be there, but so will my personal favorite, Har Mar Superstar! I will be at this show, and I will probably stick around to see the set from Grant Hart, Matt Wilson, and Gary Louris. Why not? How often do you have so many awesome people in the same place?!

First Avenue tickets
for the January 29th Jayhawks show go on sale Friday, December 3rd. But if you are lucky, there is a First Avenue tickets presale which starts on Wednesday. And sorry kiddies, the show is 21+.

Robyn Tickets

A little birdie just told me that First Avenue tickets for the Robyn show are almost sold out. The First Avenue Twitter page just broadcasted that information to all of their followers.

In one of my previous posts I mentioned that Robyn's show would be a hot ticket at First Avenue ... I guess I was right!

First Avenue tickets
for ROBYN are limited ... like their Tweet said "don't sleep on this one."

Cold War Kids tickets

New show announcement at First Avenue! The Cold War Kids have announced a show at First Avenue on Thursday, March 10th, 2011 which is part of their "Mine is Yours" tour.

Their single "Hang Me Up To Dry" was played a lot during the year that it was released.

In a recent interview, Cold War Kids talked about their plans to return to the studio in February 2010. They are working with Jacquire King who has produced the last records of Modest Mouse, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon, and some Tom Waits projects. This tour will be in support of their new album, "Mine Is Yours" which is set to be released on January 24/25th depending on which part of the world you are in.

First Avenue tickets go on sale Saturday, December 4th. In the past when the Cold War Kids have been in town as a headlining act they have sold out their shows. Granted that was at the Fine Line and First Avenue does hold more people. If you want to check out the show I would definitely buy your First Avenue tickets early. This show happens to be on my mom's birthday so I will be sitting this one out! Unless of course the yet TBD opening band kicks ass!

Mason Jennings tickets

UPDATE: The Mason Jennings show on Sunday is now an all ages show! Kiddies are welcome. This does however move the show start time up a little bit. The show will now start at 6pm.

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for BOTH the Saturday night and the Sunday night Mason Jennings shows!

It won't be this sunny in First Ave this weekend. Go away snow!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

First Avenue tickets

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for both of the Umprhey's McGee shows. The jam band will be in town on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th. Both shows are 18+.

Umphrey's McGee has been around since 1997 and have gained a large following over the past decade. Starting out as a cover band, they quickly found their sound. One of the band's percussionists, Andy Farag, joined the band in 1998 and his father became the band's manager. By 200 they were one of the most popular bands in the Notre Dame/Chicago area.

By 2002 they were being asked to play the Bonnaroo Music Festival. A few members of the band have even released solo albums. Umphrey's McGee has a very dedicated live show following. People who love to go to Phish shows love to go to Umphrey's McGee shows. The thing about Umphrey's McGee is that they love to tour a lot more than Trey and the boys.

If you want to check out Umphrey's McGee in March be sure to buy your First Avenue tickets asap!

ROBYN tickets

Is this the Fine Line blog? Wasn't ROBYN just at the Fine Line? Why yes she was, however, she is making a speedy return. Sunday, February 13th ROBYN will be at First Avenue for a headlining show. I'm glad that she is returning to First Avenue, which not only holds more people, but is a much better music venue for her show!

First Avenue tickets go on sale for the February ROBYN on Black Friday! Who thought of that name anyways?! Robyn has been a very busy artist this year. She committed to releasing three albums this year. So far this year she has released Body Talk Part 1 and Part 2.

I thought of Robyn as a one hit wonder from the late 90's. But it turns out she has quote a lucrative career in her homeland of Sweden and in the UK as well. The US does not have as much of an appreciation for dance and club music as Europe does. Being a pop star in the states has a much shorter shelf life so it makes perfect sense that Robyn went down this career path.

ROBYN'S last show at the Fine Line was super super sold out, so if you want to catch her this time around be sure to buy your First Avenue tickets asap because they will not be hanging around for very much time.

Girl Talk tickets

Were you planning on going to that Girl Talk show on Tuesday, March 8th? Well, you can't because First Avenue tickets are sold out for that one. BUT you can buy First Avenue tickets to the show that was just added on Wednesday, March 9th. Can you even plan that far in advance? I can't, I hope I am in Mexico that week! ha!

Gregg Gillis aka Girl Talk, set the internet into a frenzy this week when he released his new album online. It was all over Twitter topics and trends - Girl Talk basically almost broke the internet because everyone wanted his new album.

SO, if you want to see what the hype is about you should definitely buy your First Avenue tickets asap. The new Girl Talk album is "All Day." While the 71 minute album is 12 tracks, Gillis has explained its really only one track. There are over 373 samples on his new jams. To tell you the truth, I can't wait to see what this guy is all about.

See you at the show!

The mad genius himself.

Dropkick Murphys tickets

Spring seems like a million miles/years away, but that hasn't stopped the Dropkick Murphys from mapping out a tour. Just a shade before St. Patrick's Day, the Dropkick Murphys will be in for a show at First Avenue on March 3rd, 2011. Omg! That is like 4 months away - I don't even want to think about the horrors of winter we have to endure between now and then.

The Dropkick Murphys are the famous band for being Irish that sing songs about swashbuckling and drinking, and well, being Irish. I am not personally a fan of of the pop punk jams that they turn out, but I do know that their shows sell well because they have a very dedicated fan base. The Dropkick Murphys tour every spring before and after St. Patrick's Day. This year the lucky city that gets to host these guys on St. Patrick's day is Boston, MA.

First Avenue tickets
always sell out for the Dropkick Murphy's shows - Dropkick used to play at the Myth Nightclub, which hosted about 3000 people, unlike First Avenue which holds about 1200. First Avenue tickets for the Dropkick Murphys St. Patricks Day Tour 2011 are on sale now!

Old 97's Tickets

Alt-Country crooners, the Old 97's have announced a show at First Avenue on Sunday, February 20th. The Old 97's will be touring in support of their latest album, "The Grand Theatre: Volume One" which was released on October 12th. It has that catchy little tune "Everyday is Friday Night."

The Old 97s recorded so much material for their upcoming album, there are dozens of songs that didn't make "Volume 1." Another installment of "The Grand Theatre" is scheduled to be released in 2011. Before recording this album, the band actually rented out a theater in Austin, TX to test all the new jams our live before they professionally recorded any of them. Kind of a cool idea - making sure your songs are good enough live before you record them. The Old 07s are known for their awesome live shows so this method of recording really makes sense for them.

First Avenue tickets
are on sale now for the February 20th Old 97s show. The Old 97s have been around for years and have a pretty dedicated following. First Avenue tickets for this show will definitely sell out closer to show time. Girly indie rockers, Those Darlins, open the show.

Remembering Eydea

I just wanted to post this in case you had to miss the show like myself. There is a wonderful write up about the benefit for Eyedea that took place at First Avenue on Tuesday. The event raised a lot of money for his family and from the tone of the article it looks like it was a nice way to remember a lost friend. I teared up reading it.

First Avenue tickets

There have been a lot of great show announcements at First Avenue this week. The first of which is another celebratory event: The Onion's 1143rd Twin Cities Issue Celebratory Gathering. Quite the title, no? But it's the Onion, so what do you expect.

First Avenue tickets go on sale this Friday for the Onion's celebratory show. The line up includes a lot of local favorites Pink Mink, BNLX, Zebulon Pike, Fuck Knights, Grant Cutler & the Gorgeous Lords, DJ Jake Rudh and a special headlining guest which is TBA.

You can catch most of the acts at our local favorite bars on any given weekend (Hexagon, 331 Club, 7th Street Entry, etc) but here they are all in one spot, one night only! Pink Mink was this years City Pages "Pick to Click" artist so there is a lot of buzz about these guys.

If you are not familiar with the Onion, you should be. Here is one of my favorite Onion articles:

Dawes tickets

I would like to take a minute to express how excited I am to see Dawes and Peter Wolf Crier on Thursday. As I have blogged before, I was super sad I couldn't make it to their Taste of MN performance. BUT as soon as that show was over the announced a return to Minneapolis this November.

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for the Dawes show this Thursday. Local favorites Peter Wolf Crier are opening the show. They are a band I have heard so much about but have not had a chance to check out yet - another plus!

Last week the Star Tribune had an article/interview with the band. Here is a snippet that I love and makes me proud to be a Minneapolis music fan, "After every tour, when we get home and people ask, 'So what was your favorite show?' Minneapolis is always at or near the top of the list. That's not just something I would say, either, because we aren't playing rooms the size of First Avenue in other cities, except maybe New York."

See you at the show!

Girl Talk tickets

Everyone's favorite sampling artist, Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) is back in town for a show on Tuesday, March 8th. Last time Girl Talk was in town First Avenue tickets were super super sold out and difficult to find. When First Avenue tickets go on sale in a few days be sure to buy them as soon as possible.

Who is Girl Talk? Girl Talk is a dude and his laptop. He takes snippets from thousands of songs and mixes them together - basically a successful DJ. Everyone calls Girl Talk "a lawsuit waiting to happen," however I believe every part of the songs he uses are under 30 seconds. From what little information I understand about copyright law, if you sample less than 30 seconds of a song you do not have to pay royalty fees. It must be the case because otherwise Girl Talk would need to be a multi millionaire to pay for all his royalties.

Girl Talk is currently touring in support of "Feed the Animals" which he released in June. Some of his shows this past summer included fireworks, sadly I don't think First Avenue can have fireworks. I know I don't want my belived concert venue to go up in flames! First Avenue tickets for Girl Talk go on sale now. See you at the show!

Not your average Girl Talk!

First Avenue tickets

As you may know, we lost one of our beloved Minnesota musicians a few weeks ago, Mike Larsen. However, you may recognize him as Eyedea from the Rhymesayers family. Minneapolis music fans were shocked and saddened by the surprise

His First Avenue family is throwing a benefit to help his family with the costs of his funeral and burial expenses. First Avenue tickets are $20 for this show and all proceeds go to Eyedea's family. First Avenue is donating 10% of all liquor sales from their bar next door, The Depot. Thankfully this should leave Eyedea's family with over $20,000+ dollars to cover these unexpected expenses.

First Avenue and Rhymesayers have been very mum on the subject as to who will be performing at this benefit, but the line up will be ideal for any Minnesota Rhymesayers music fan. First Avenue tickets were sold out online for quite sometime but a few more were just released. If the Eyedea benefit show is one you want to go to, good luck finding First Avenue tickets - they will sell out.

Celebrate life, Celebrate the good times.

First Avenue tickets

First Avenue keeps adding more and more shows to the December concert calendar, although I am a little surprised that they waited so long. As you may know, First Avenue has been celebrating their 40th Anniversary all year. While they have hosted many parties for the Current and other cd release shows they apparently neglected to book one for themselves!

First Avenue is having a 40th Anniversary Bash on Wednesday, December 15th. I know, a Wednesday, right? But there are just too many exciting shows already booked every weekend in December. So what can you do? Throw a party during the week of course! Are ready for the line up - there are a lot! And the list will only continue...

Scheduled to appear:

Gary Louris, Grant Hart, The Mighty Mofos, Matt Wilson & John Munson, Heiruspecs, and my personal favorite, Har Mar Superstar!

First Avenue tickets go on sale Saturday at noon for this awesome celebration. First Avenue tickets will also definitely sell out - this is a great celebration with an even greater lineup.

See you at the show!

Hold Steady tickets

A local favorite, The Hold Steady, has added a holiday show to First Avenue's December concert calendar. Craig Finn and Co. have been touring in support of their May release "Heaven is Whenever." However, the Hold Steady don't need a reason to tour in Minneapolis because everyone loves them!

The opening band for their December 29th show at First Avenue is the Meat Puppets. A band that I thought had long ago disappeared. Turns out they reunited in 2006 and have been together ever since (the original line up, mind you)

First Avenue tickets
are on sale now for the Hold Steady show on December 29th show. Normally when the Hold Steady is in town they have several shows, often three nights in a row at First Ave. But because First Avenue is already booked for the month of December adding more shows is not an option. Hold Steady First Avenue tickets will sell out for this show!

Monday, November 1, 2010

First Avenue tickets

Halloween happened to be on a Sunday this year, but that did not stop First Avenue from having their annual Halloween Party and costume contest. The event took place last night (obviously,) the winners were: 1) Toiletron, 2) The Chilean Miners, and 3) Buzz Lightyear. If I find a pic of the winners I will add it to the blog - so far I haven't had much luck!

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for the just announced Tapes N Tapes show in February. Always a local favorite, Tapes N Tapes will be touring in support of their new album, Outside, which will be released on 1/11/11 - catchy, no? If you can't wait to check out the First Avenue show in February, Tapes N Tapes will be playing a show at the Turf Club on November, 11th. There are no Tapes N Tapes tickets available ahead of time, admission will day of show only. Tapes N Tapes will be playing their new album in its entirety at this so. Sounds pretty exciting for any Tapes N Tapes fan.

Pete Yorn tickets

Pete Yorn just announced a show at First Avenue on Friday, February 25th. That seems like ages away, doesn't it. Pete Yorn is touring in support of his current release, a self titled endeavor that was released in September of this year. He managed to nab Frank Black as the producer of this one.

There is a catchy little tune called "Precious Stone" that alt rock radio stations have taken kindly to. Check out the performance on Leno:

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for the Pete Yorn show. However, something that is more notable that Pete Yorn is the opening act, which is one of my personal favorites, Ben Kweller. I have been going to his shows since I was 17 years old - I can't wait to see him again. He hasn't released an album in awhile, but he tours pretty frequently. I haven't seen one of his shows since he opened for Aimee Mann at the zoo awhile back. I must admit, I am a little embarrassed to buy my First Avenue tickets for this show, I don't want to ask for a Pete Yorn tickets, I am going as a Ben Kweller fan!

First Avenue tickets

Did you catch Too Much Love this weekend? There were very special guests this weekend.
Twitter and Facebook were abuzz Saturday with the 'very special guest" at TML. It was no suprise that LCD Soundsytem was that 'special guest.'

As you know, First Avenue tickets are not needed for TML, you simply pay a cover of $5 at the door. The rumor of LCD Soundsystem was just that, a rumor, until their entourage showed up at First Ave around 12:30 to a super packed First Avenue. Not only did they bring their records to spin, but Hot Chip joined in the fun as well.

I was over on the West Bank for the Is/Is / F Nights show so I had to sit this fun night out. But I loved see all pictures from my friends. I think this was cooler than Passion Pit spinning at the record room, what do you think?

Broken Bells tickets

AHHAHHHA YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Broken Bells are coming, Broken Bells are coming, Broken Bells are coming!!! Oh yeah, Broken Bells are coming! Big excitement from this gal that James Mercer and Dangermouse are coming to town December 6th. I have been dreaming of seeing this power duo, didn't think it was going to happen because Dangermouse is pretty much the most sought after dude in the music industry. But, dreams do come true. December 6th at First Avenue - be there or be missing out on the best show of the season.

First Avenue tickets go on sale Friday and will sell out so fast it will make your head spin. Broken Bells' debut album is on my top 5 albums of 2010 and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way!

Ah! It's just so exciting. If you want to hear all the jams like "The High Road" "The Ghost Inside" and "Vaporize" buy First Avenue tickets now! This is a show you will not want to miss!

Moment of Remembering

This weekend the Minneapolis music scene lost a very talented man. Eyedea (aka Micheal Larson) was found dead in his home yesterday. It is not clear what he died from, however, it is a shock to all.
Eyedea, as I am sure you know was part of the local Rhymesayers label. Label mates include Atmosphere, Brother Ali, etc.
Oh Friday night Eyedea was seen at the 7th Street Entry checking out fellow friend/artist/collaborator/band mate Abilities who was performing with Pigeon John from LA.
It was one of those deaths which has taken everyone by surprise and leaves a lot of unanswered questions. There is a memorial account set up to help his mother pay for funeral costs, which can be found on this facebook page.

What a loss.

Brandon Flowers tickets

The Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers, has embarked on a solo tour. He has booked dates in Vegas (I think his ultimate goal is to have a long term gig there) and Brandon is now touring in support of his solo album, "Flamingo" around the country. Another notable fact about this tour is the lead singer of Train has also branched out on his own and is the opening act. Fran Healy is touring in support of his solo album, "Wreckorder."

First Avenue tickets are on sale now for the Brandon Flowers show. Last time the Killers were in town they managed to sell out the Northrop Auditorium. A place which hold three times the amount of people First Avenue does! First Avenue tickets will sell out fast for this one. Granted, I will readily admit I cannot name a solo Brandon Flowers song, but I can sure name a few Killers songs. Brandon Flowers will I'm sure do a mixture of both, but if you want to go make sure to buy your First Avenue tickets early.

Brandon Flowers: Sunday, November 21st.
