Holiday Shows at First Avenue!

'Tis the season for the Holidays, which brings a lot of people back to their families in the metro area. This includes a lot of local bands that call Minneapolis home. Quietdrive will play in the main room on December 29th and Soul Asylum will play in the main room as well on December 21st. This is nothing new, Soul Asylum has done this as many years as I can remember, they usually have a Thanksgiving show as well. They go back and forth between First Avenue and the Fine Line. Dave Pirner will play a second holiday show at the Cabooze on the 28th of December with his solo band, the Volunteers.
Funny story: Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum refused to play at First Avenue for many years after the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe (which is across the street) in the '90s. The Hard Rock, who loves to show off their extensive rock memorabilia collection somehow acquired a stolen piece of Dave Pirner's property. In the video for "Runaway Train" he wore a tattered SpaghettiO's shirt that went missing several years later. Low and behold, that same shirt showed up at the Grand Opening of the Hard Rock.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now!
