First Avenue tickets

There are a lot of upcoming show that Minneapolis music fans are nuts about. I say this because First Avenue tickets for many upcoming shows are sold out.

Here is a list of the ones (so far) that First Avenue tickets are going to be difficult to stumble upon:

2/13 - The Suburbs

2/20 - Jack's Mannequin

3/5 - The Avett Brothers

3/22 - Vampire Weekend

4/2 - Spoon 21+ show

4/4 - Passion Pit

Man oh man am I glad that I bought my First Avenue tickets to see Passion Pit before it sold out. I missed them last summer when they played at The Triple Rock on one of their off days from Lollapalooza.

The Avett Brothers have a little more hub-bub surrounding them these days. I learned the other day that they are singing backing vocals on Johnny Cash's new (yes you read that correctly) American VI album that is set to release on what would have been his 78th birthday. The Current has been playing the new songs all week. I am big fan of the American Recordings - something I didn't think would ever be released again. Rick Rubin has been hanging onto all of these recordings since Cash's death in 2003. Rick! What were you thinking!

First Avenue tickets are sold out for the shows I listed above, so you better get looking if you still want to check out Jack's Mannequin. I would keep a close eye on Yeasayer (already sold out the Varsity Theater so they moved it to the main room), The Big Pink, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are all shows that First Avenue tickets may become hard to find! See you there!
